Tips & Tricks

Here you will find helpful tips & tricks to make the best use of your markers.

Dry

To mark in deeper holes, you can make your mark by turning the protruding lead of the Pica Dry.

We offer colored caps to be able to distinguish between different colored leads for the Dry's.

To protect the mechanism in the marker and increase its service life, we recommend always filling the replacement refills from the back. Then press the cap on firmly.

Pica Dry Metal Set, with carbide scriber

For the most precise marking on metal, a carbide scriber is now available for the Dry.

The colors blue, white and black (water jet resistant) are chloride-free and ideally suited for markings on stainless steel.

If the mechanics are no longer intact, the following can be done:

  • Remove the refill (if not possible, use metal or similar as a stopper)
  • Dip the tip of the pen (metal tube) in hot water
  • Actuate the mechanism several times
  • blow out and allow to dry

Big Dry

To draw precise edges, you can sharpen the lead of the BIG Dry at a 45° angle on the lead sharpener and give it a pointed edge. Then turn the sharpener downwards and tap off.

There is a bit holder at the top of the quiver protector that is suitable for all kinds of bits.

To protect the mechanism in the marker and increase its service life, we recommend always filling the replacement refills from the back. Then press the cap on firmly (until you hear a click).

Fine Dry

The eraser can be readjusted as required by removing it from the clip. This means it can be used up completely.

The tip of the Fine Dry can be unscrewed, allowing abrasion to be removed.

When changing refills, it is important to remove all the remaining refills in the reservoir before filling new ones from behind. Then press the cap on firmly.

Ink & Big Ink

If the lead is damaged or dried out, you can remove the tip, turn it 180° and reinsert it to revive the marker.

Now new: The Ink Refill Set

First make sure that the marker is really empty. Then you can remove the cap with a coin or similar and place the pipette filled with ink up to the ink reservoir and fill the ink in the middle.

Visor Permanent

Fully advance the refill until the pliers open, which close again when the refill is withdrawn. The refill is then securely seated in the marker again.

The colors blue, white and black are chloride-free and ideally suited for markings on stainless steel.

Gel

If the tip has dried out, unscrew the lead up to the soft area and cut it off with a knife. If necessary, re-sharpen with the sharpener in the sharpener.

The gel refills are chloride-free, which makes them ideal for marking on stainless steel.
